Ex-OFWs Encouraged to Work as Teachers in the PH

Former overseas Filipino workers who are Education degree holders are given the opportunity to go back to teaching via the new project dubbed, “Sa ‘Pinas, Ikaw ang Ma’am/Sir”  of Department of Education (DepEd) and  Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE).

Malacañang praised this government program that would open more than three-hundred (3000) additional teaching positions in public schools. 

In a radio interview to Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. in Radyo ng Bayan, he said,  ”We congratulate Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz and Education Secretary Brother Armin Luistro for launching and pushing this kind of program.” 

Coloma further informed that DOLE requested from DepEd to open more teaching posts as more teachers are needed in the public schools. 

He said, ”According to DepEd, there will be at least 39,000 vacant positions for Teacher 1 for this school year 2015.”

Passport Needs in Saudi? Check the 2015 Sched of Embassy on Wheels

Filipinos that are working and living in Saudi Arabia can now view the schedule of the Embassy on Wheels” (EOW) Consular Outreach Missions for the year 2015.  The schedule was released by the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh.

The following consular services will be offered during  regular EOWs:

• Passport renewal
• New passport for newborn babies
• Passport releasing
• Lost passport application
• Notarial services; and
• Report of Birth registration

Passport applicants, except for clients falling under specific criteria, are required to obtain an appointment through the online system on the Embassy’s website at www.riyadhpe.dfa.gov.ph.   Appointment schedules will be available for booking one month before the EOW schedule.
No appointment, no passport renewal. The schedule may be subject to changes dependent on the approval of the Saudi Government and other extraneous factors. Any changes in this regard will be announced by the Embassy as soon as practicable.
