OFW Guide - OFWs Can Now Install DMW Mobile App


The Department of Migrant Workers or DMW (former POEA) invites overseas Filipino workers to install their Mobile App. Launched last July 21, this app aims to promote digtal transactions of OFWs.This app contains the OFW Pass, the digital alternative to overseas employment certificate (OEC).

The Department of Migrant Workers or DMW (former POEA) invites overseas Filipino workers to install their Mobile App. Launched last July 21, this app aims to promote digital transactions of OFWs. This app contains the OFW Pass, the digital alternative to overseas employment certificate (OEC) is still in its pilot test run in the Philippines and 10 countries with the most number of OWs:

Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Japan

The app is free to download in Google Play Store (“DMW Mobile App) and  Apple App Store (DMWMobile) . The OFW Pass is free as well

To register, follow the instructions and be ready with your passport. Successful registration will give you a  Lifetime e-Registration Number (ERN) that you can see when you click the  “View OFW Pass” in the app.

To have an active ang OFW Pass that you can use when going abroad, it needs to go through a visa verification process. Hereare the acceptable IDs for  visa verification

Saudi Arabia – Visa, ID card
United Arab Emirates - Residence card
Qatar -Residence permit, Visa
Hong Kong - ID card, Permanent ID card
Singapore - Employment card, ID card
Malaysia - ID card, Permanent residence card
Oman - ID card, Residence card
Taiwan - Alien resident card, Residence card
United Kingdom - Application registration card. Residence permit visa
Japan - ID card. Mu number card, Residence card, Visa

As of this writing, users are still reporting technical issues. Thus, physical OEC’s will still be accepted for now.  Migrant Workers Secretary,   Susan Ople said,  “Just to avoid a panic situation and confusion, we are still maintaining the OEC at least for two months,” sabi ni Ople.

POEA Announces New Locations Of One-Stop Centers for OFWs

Overseas Filipino workers can now process all their employment requirements in the following locations as posted in the official POEA website.



·         Manna Mall, San Fernando City, La Union

·         City Tourism Office, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan

·         Baguio Convention Center, Baguio City

·         Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga

·         OWWA Regional Office 4A in Calamba City

·         Robinson’s Place, Puerto Princesa City

·         Pacific Mall, Legaspi City

·         SM City, Cebu City

·         Robinson’s Place, Iloilo City

·         Robinson’s Place, Bacolod City

·         DOLE Regional Office No. 8, Tacloban City

·         Goodwill Center, Zamboanga City

One-Stop Shop for OFWs this August!

Current and aspiring overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) don’t have to go to numerous locations to avail government services soon. According to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), a one-stop shop for OFWs is opening this August 15.
This development is DOLE’s response to President Duterte’s directive to make availment of government services easier for OFWs.
The  One-Stop Service Center for OFWs (OSSCO) can be found at the:
Ground floor, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration’s Main Office
Blas F. Ople Building, Ortigas Avenue corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City

The various government offices at the one-stop center will offer the following OFW services:

1. Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
Passport Services
Passport Validity Extension for Balik-Manggagawa (vacationing Workers)

2. Overseas Welfare Workers Administration (OWWA)- Processing of OWWA Membership/Renewal of Membership

3. Technical Education and Skills Development (TESDA)
Assistance for Competency Assessment
Verification of Certificates and Special Order
Assistance for Replacement of National Certificates (NC)/ Certificates of Competency (COC)
 Training Assistance and Scholarship Program

4. Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) -Issuance of Professional License

5. Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) -Issuance/ Revalidation of Seaman’s Book
6. Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF - Processing of Pag-ibig Membership

7. Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC)
Payment of Philhealth Contribution
Member registration and updating

8. Social Security System (SSS)

The OSSCO in Ortigas and the regional offices will be open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday to Friday, or in its discretion, with prior approval of the POEA or DOLE Regional Office, may extend the services during weekends and holidays.

The search is on for the 2016 Bagong Bayani Awards! This annual event recognizes the significant contributions of OFWs such as fostering goodwill among peoples of the world, enhancing  and promoting the image of the Filipino as a competent, responsible and dignified worker, and for greatly
contributing to the socio-economic development of their communities and our country as a whole.
