On the day of your flight
- Arrive at least 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
- Proceed to the airline check-in counter to claim your boarding pass and to
- deposit your luggage.
Baggage packing reminders:
- The limit for check-in baggage is usually 20kg.
- Do not accept sealed packages for inclusion in your baggage.
- Do not pack illegal or banned items in your luggage (e.g. drugs, deadly
- weapons, pornographic materials, and flammable materials); and
- Seal your luggage properly and make sure to keep an eye on your
- belongings.
• In case you are required to secure a separate
travel tax exemption, proceed to the TIEZA counter at the airport and present your
OEC.
• Proceed to the Immigration counter using the special
lane for OFWs. The Immigration officer will ask you questions about
your work, be polite and respectful. Always have your passport, visa and
contract ready.
• Pass through the final security check.
• Proceed to the boarding gate and wait for the boarding
announcement.
• POEA and OWWA have booths at the airports to
assist OFWs
The original of the following documents should be
in your hand-carry luggage:
- Passport;
- Visa;
- OEC;
- Contract;
- PDOS certificate;
- Airline ticket; and
- At least 2 other valid IDs.
• Photocopies of these documents should be in your
check-in luggage and another set
should be given to your family and agency for
safekeeping and records.
• Bring pocket money (in currency of destination
country).
• Wear clothes appropriate for the climate (be sure
to check the weather) and culture of
the destination country.
• Make sure that you or your agency makes
arrangements with your employer or his
representative to pick you up at the destination
country airport.
• Keep a copy of the jobsite/employer, Embassy,
consulate, and POLO
